Do I have to be fit to join Team One Fitness sessions?
Not at all, our sessions are designed so that everyone can work at their own pace and level regardless of their fitness levels.
What do I have to bring to the session?
Always bring your trainers, comfortable work out gear and some water. Beach sessions are normally a bare foot affair. In sunny weather we recommend you put on sunscreen and wear a hat. If you are doing a boxing class, bring some boxing inner gloves. We provide gloves and pads. If you prefer to use your own gear, please feel free to bring them along.
Will sessions be cancelled due to bad weather?
We love to operate rain, hail or shine! In the event of extreme weather conditions, we will cancel sessions and notify you by email if time permits or Facebook.
Should I eat something before the training session?
Yes, food eaten before exercise should provide carbohydrate. It should also be low in fat and moderate in fibre to make digestion easier and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort. Food consumed before exercise is only useful once it has been digested and absorbed. Depending on the time of the session and how much time you have before to eat, choose the right foods. Here are a few examples:- Foods to eat less then 1 hour before session: sports drink, carbohydrate gel, sports bars– Foods to eat 1-2 hours before exercising: milk shake or fruit smoothie, sports bars (check labels for carbohydrate and protein content), breakfast cereal with milk, cereal bars, fruit-flavoured yoghurt, fruit
– Foods to eat 3-4 hours before exercising: baked beans on toast, breakfast cereal with milk, bread roll with cheese/meat filling + banana, pasta or rice with a sauce based on low-fat ingredients (e.g. tomato, vegetables, lean meat)
